Taxi: Getting a taxi - there are a few different ways to find a taxi in Vienna:
-
Pre-book by phone: your hotel and most tourist information centres will provide you with phone numbers for taxi companies and may even call them for you.
-
Use a taxi app: several free mobile phone applications are available that allow you to book a taxi in Vienna, see how long it will take and how much it will cost, and give you the option to pay by card.
-
Find a taxi stand: Vienna has many Taxistandplatzes throughout the city, where you can hop in a taxi.
The average cost of a short taxi journey in the city centre is usually between 7 and 12 euros, while a trip to the airport can cost anywhere from 35 to 55 euros. All taxis in Vienna are fitted with a meter, but we recommend confirming an approximate price for your journey with your driver before you get in. Not all taxis take card payments, although the various taxi applications available on mobile phones usually allow you to pay by card via the app.

Water
Staying hydrated is always essential, particularly during a busy day at ISW 2022. Many visitors to a foreign city want to know if you can drink the water. In Vienna, mineral water comes out of the taps: the tap water in Vienna is generally very high quality, and drinking fountains are quite common in tourist areas.
